Carruth – Statesboro Campus

The Carruth Building was built in 1959 and re-purposed in 2015 to serve as Georgia Southern’s Engineering Research Center. It currently comprises several labs and classrooms, including Georgia’s first Asphalt Research Lab, the Nanomaterials Research Lab and the GS Robotics Lab. The Asphalt Research Lab, under the direction of Dr. Junan Shen, features “superpavement” asphalt mixture design equipment, SHRP asphalt binder grade equipment, an asphalt mixture performance tester and weathering equipment.

Center for Applied Cyber Education – Armstrong Campus

The Center for Applied Cyber Education (CACE) is an interdisciplinary center and a leader in cyber education and training. CACE began in October 2015 as a collaborative effort between Armstrong administration, faculty, and staff across the university to strengthen cyber education and training in the region. CACE is dedicated to supporting interdisciplinary cyber education that affords student access to curriculum, programs, and community partnerships that impart the skills and concepts applicable to 21st-century cyber workforce needs.

Engineering – Statesboro Campus

The Engineering Building was dedicated in 1995, and is home to the Departments of Civil Engineering & Construction and Mechanical Engineering. The two-story, 80,868 sq. ft. facility comprises eight classrooms, 19 laboratories, 40 faculty offices, four administrative suites, three conference rooms, three staff offices and storage.

Engineering & Research – Statesboro Campus

Officially opened on January 8, 2021, the Engineering & Research Building is the newest in the College’s suite of buildings.  This 135,000 square foot state-of-the-art building is home to the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, as well as several Mechanical Engineering faculty.  The ERB is designed to serve as an epicenter for engineering excellence and innovation, and to facilitate academic and institutional partnerships by inspiring creating engineering solutions.  It comprises 21 cutting-edge instructional research labs including high bay areas and a precision manufacturing/Class 10,000 clean lab, 25 academic learning spaces, a conference center/seminar space, configurable labs and research areas, and a renewable energy rooftop lab.

Information Technology (aka IT building) – Statesboro Campus

The College’s flagship building is the 140,000 square foot Information Technology Building, opened on July 1, 2003. The IT Building is home to the Departments of Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Manufacturing Engineering. It also houses the administrative suite for the Dean and Associate Deans, and the College’s Student Services Center. In addition, there are 100 faculty offices, four administrative suites, and six conference rooms. One auditorium, Market Street Deli, GusMart2, thirteen classrooms, 14 labs and 11 study rooms are available to all University students.

Science Center – Armstrong Campus

The Science Center is a state-of-the-art, two-building complex on the Armstrong campus in Savannah that is entirely devoted to science and technology. Connected with a modern glass bridge, the Science Center houses the Departments of Computer Science and Information Technology.

University Hall – Armstrong Campus

At 89,000 square feet, University Hall is one of Armstrong’s largest academic buildings and is uniquely designed to look like the streets of downtown Savannah. It features the Patio Café and an expansive outdoor patio space. Engineering departments are housed within this building along with the Engineering Learning Center and the Technology Center.
